I bought this motor to push a 17 foot canoe. I have not been able to get to the #5 speed for very long as it is to fast for the canoe for stability. I have never been able to run down a battery in a weekend. I use a 31 amp hour gel cell. It exceeds all my excpectaions.
Great Motor

I wanted to the ability to bass fish off my boat, so I purchased this motor a week ago along with a Seasense 4-Way Adjustable Trolling Motor Bracket and mounted both the back of my 15' Seadoo Sportster (Jet Boat). I have been fishing twice already, and love this motor. I am typically using the lowest speed and it pushes and pulls my 1,600 LB+ boat around the lake with no issue. The motor looks great, and the telescopic handle is an awesome and very convenient feature. I highly recommend this motor if you are looking for an inexpensive transom mount.

Got my order in three days. Put it on my square back canoe and it moves at nice jogging pace on the highest speed setting. Sure the 50 would be nice, but for the money the 30 is just fine.
GREAT FOR MY RAFT

I own a Marine 400 (11 foot raft) and attached this motor to my boat and it took off. Just what I needed for the ponds and small rivers I fish. But what I was really impressed by was the prop. One pond I go to the shallows around the shoreline is covered with lily pads and I thought that I had to paddle past that in order to get to open water. But another fisherman who had another raft w/Endura 45 connected said, "You don't have to do that your motor blade is made to go right through that stuff." I dropped the motor and yep, it cut right through the pads. I'd say at full speed (#5) it gets close to 5mph. perfect for my needs. And the shipping by the seller was awesome to...I ordered it on a Friday and it arrived the next day and I requested standard shipping. I wish everything that I ordered from other companies came that fast.

Reviewer: James J. Damato,
I found the unit easy to use, stable, and sufficiently powerful to propell our 16 ft cannoe at a reasonable speed. I am very satisfied with this product. However, they do recommend the installation of a 30 amp breaker on the postive pole, but if you avoid overloading the motor, this breaker may not be needed.
do i need to buy a separate battery for this?
Yes. Depending on your boat and desired driving time, you need to buy a suitable 12 Volt battery.
